Sport

Sport is edited and published by Fergus Barrowman, who founded the magazine in 1988 with Elizabeth Knox, Nigel Cox and Damien Wilkins, with assistance from Bill Manhire, Alan Preston and Andrew Mason.

Sport was published twice a year until November 2003, and is now published annually.

Co-editors and guest editors have included James Brown (13, 14, 16, 18-24), Catherine Chidgey (23-26), Gregory O’Brien (15, 30), Sara Knox (17), Lara Strongman (30) Andrew Johnston (6-9) and Sally-Ann Spencer (40).

 

Submissions

Sport publishes short fiction, poetry, and nonfiction. Submissions from New Zealand writers or with a New Zealand connection are welcome.

For poetry, we will consider submissions of up to six poems. No word limit on prose.

Please include a short bio with your submission, and make sure each page is numbered and marked with your name and the name of the work.

Submissions sent by mail must be typed and include a stamped, self-addressed envelope.
